D.C. Weather Forecast: Hot today, storms Saturday, cooler Sunday

Tonight: Mostly clear and warm

Lows: 60s to Low 70s | Wind: S 4-8 m.p.h.

Saturday: Morning sun, PM storms likely

Highs: Upper 80s | Precipitation: 70%

An area of high pressure will briefly visit the region today making for sunny skies and hot temperatures in the lower 90s. A few stray storms are possible but mainly over the mountains to the west. Tonight, lows will fall into the upper 60s to mid 70s under mostly clear skies. A strong cold front will move in from the west tomorrow bringing with it the chance for showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours. Some of those storms may be strong to severe with damaging wind gusts as the primary threat. Highs should reach the mid to upper 80s ahead of the front.

Sunday will be cooler and less humid with highs in the mid 70s under mostly sunny skies. Looking ahead to next week, the cooler pattern will continue through the middle of next week with highs in the upper 70s both Monday and Tuesday.
