As high pressure moves out of the area, a developing storm system and cold front will bring rain and thunderstorms to the region. The rain will be heavy at times and the storms will be strong and may become severe.
Today will be a day of transition with increasing cloudiness and a chance of a few late evening showers.
Tomorrow will be an active weather day. Showers and thunderstorms will become numerous and widespread as the day goes on. While the greatest threat of violent weather will tend to be just north of Washington, our entire area will have the potential of heavy to severe weather.
Clearing skies will follow the systems later Wednesday. Thursday and Friday look just fine.
