D.C. weather forecast: Quiet Sunday, very wet by Tuesday

Quiet forecast for the rest of the weekend, but changes are coming with heavy rain and thunderstorms in the extended outlook.

Overnight: Mostly to Partly Cloudy

Lows: 48°- 55° | Wind: Calm

Sunday: Morning Sun, Increasing PM Clouds

Highs: near 75° | Wind: West 5-10 mph

Monday: Late PM Showers Likely

Highs: near 75° | Wind: Southeast 5-10 mph

Mostly to partly cloudy skies are expected overnight as temperatures fall into the middle 40s in the mountains to middle 50s closer to the District. Sunday will bring abundant sunshine during the morning hours with increasing cloudiness by afternoon. High pressure briefly builds Sunday night into early Monday.

A warm front will push toward the mid-Atlantic late Monday and into Tuesday.  Clouds will increase along with the chances for periods of rain and a few thunderstorms.
