Another picture-perfect day ahead with sunshine and seasonable temperatures

Today: Mostly Sunny and pleasant

Highs: 73-78 | Wind: N 3-5 m.p.h.

Tonight: Clear and cool

Lows: 46-56| Wind: Light.

Friday: Partly cloudy and warmer

Highs: Around 80 | Wind: S 5 m.p.h.

When the temperature dropped to 55 degrees at Reagan National Airport this morning, it matched the readings of May 19th, making it the coolest morning in 4 months. Folks in many surburban areas awakened to temperatures in the lower to middle 40s. With a full day of sunshine ahead, temperatures will climb into the middle and upper 70s. Tomorrow will be a bit warmer. Under partly cloudy skies, highs will reach 80 degrees.

On Saturday, there will be a definite feel of summer in the air. Interesting because summer official ends at 10:49 Saturday morning with the Autumnal Equinox. Skies will be partly cloudy but by late afternoon and evening, you'll want to keep your eye on the sky as an approaching cold front could generate scattered showers and thunderstorms. Skies will become partly cloudy on Sunday as a fresh batch of cooler and drier air arrives. We are forecasting highs only in the lower 70s on Sunday afternoon. Nice !!
