D.C. weather forecast: Warm with storms today, fall-like temperatures tomorrow
This Afternoon: Warm & Breezy, Spotty PM Storms
Highs: Mid 80s | Wind: S 10-15
Tonight: Clearing & Pleasant
Lows: 53-58 | Wind: N 2-6
Sunday: Sunny & much cooler, fall-like
Highs: Near 70 | Wind: NW 5-15
It’ll be a warm Saturday with highs in the mid 80s and more humid than the past several days. Partly cloudy conditions will give way to spotty thunderstorms in the late afternoon and early evening (4 p.m. to 8 p.m. locally), and some storms could become strong/severe. The cold front that will help trigger the storms will pave the way for very fall-like conditions on Sunday with highs near 70 under mostly sunny skies. The unseasonably cool weather will then last into the early part of next week.
Lastly, the autumnal equinox is at 10:49am EDT, which is when the sun’s most direct rays are over the equator and have almost equal parts daylight and darkness.
