Hurricane Sandy has come ashore but the spiral bands of heavy rain and strong winds continue to move over the area. This will continue until later tonight. By tomorrow a weaker Sandy but still with tropical showers will drift north. our winds will turn into the southwest and south and the threat of flooding along the Bay will continue. Flood watches and warnings will continue for several days and the creast of the flood on the Potomac will move through Washington Thursday. The effects from this historic storm will be with us for some time and power in some areas may not be restored for days.
