Nothing could be finer than to be in Washington in late October as our weather reaches autumnal perfection. With many trees now a blaze of color, plenty of sunshine and daytime high temperatures in the 60s and 70s, these are truly days to savor. Today dawned clear and cool with the expectation of more near cloudless skies, highs in the middle 60s and breezy northwesterly winds of 10 to 15 mph.
The high pressure that will be our benefactor today will be with us throughout the week with increasingly warmer and slightly more humid, but eminently comfortable days. With winds shifting to the south and west, highs on Monday should rise to the lower 70s with readings in the mid to upper 70s likely on Tuesday and Wednesday. Friday should see a return to more seasonable readings (the average high is 67 for this time of October), and some showers are possible late in the weekend. But we won't let that prospect dim our anticipation of a week of blissful days! Enjoy them all!
