THE FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES FOR THE FOLLOWING RIVERS IN MARYLAND and VIRGINIA
POTOMAC RIVER AT POINT OF ROCKS AFFECTING FREDERICK AND LOUDOUN COUNTIES
POTOMAC RIVER NEAR LITTLE FALLS AFFECTING MONTGOMERY AND FAIRFAX COUNTIES
The remaining circulation that was once Sandy is now over western NY and will meander East Northeastwardly and fade from sight. In the meantime, high pressure is starting to build back into the area. Drier air is slowly returning, as well. Cooler than average temperatures will remain in place for at least at the next 7 days. Partly cloudy days and nights are forecast through Sunday. The next area of low pressure to affect our area will likely enter the picture on Monday. This will provide about a 30%chance of scattered showers. There are no signs of any significant storm activity showing up in computer model guidance.
