High pressure will continue to strengthen over the mid-Atlantic states for the next few days. While it will keep temperatures just a little below average, it will also create mostly sunny skies. Take a look at the cloud-free sky this afternoon over Washington.
On Saturday, as the high pressure center shifts a bit, winds will take on a more southerly or southwesterly direction. This will allow for a modest warm up. Highs on Saturday could reach the middle 50s, again under mainly sunny skies. On Sunday, there will be a few more clouds and temperatures will rise a few more degrees…perhaps to the 60 degree mark. Very mild conditions are expected Monday and Tuesday with highs, both days, in the 60s. The next storm system and cold front is timed to arrive on Wednesday with clouds, cooler temperatures and a chance of rain.
