Areas of cloudiness will move away from the region this morning providing a nice period of sunny skies. Temperatures will approach 50 degrees. More clouds will return tonight ahead of a MINOR low pressure system developing over the deep south. Because the low pressure center will be rather weak and moving rather quickly, we do not expect a significant impact in the metro area. However, the farther North and West you are from Washington, the better the chance for accumulating, slushy snow. Maybe a couple of inches in the Piedemont and mountains. Locally, we are forecasting rain that may mix with wet snow at times. Precipitation will end during the afternoon.
Clearing and cold weather will be in place on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Warmer temperatures will develop over the weekend.
