Tonight: Increasing Clouds
Lows: 30-38 | Wind: ENE 5
Tuesday: Rain and Snow
Highs: Low to Mid 40s | Snow: No accumulation metro
High Pressure still dominating our weather today with plenty of sunshine expected this afternoon. A Developing system near the Gulf will sync up with cold air advancing from the Midwest and time it just right to bring a wintery mix of weather across the viewing area. The clouds will increase tonight and most of the rain/snow will fall between 6a and Noon. All snow is expected for West Virginia and Northwest Maryland with elevation above 1000' 1-2" is expected. Rain and snow will mix for the Shenandoah Valley stretching into the metro area. Less than an inch of accumulation expected and the metro should see little to no accumulation.
- Snow/Mix/Rain
If we get a good burst of a snowshower, some may stick on the grassy areas, but surface temperatures will remain above freezing, so roads should be fine. Keep in mind that bridges and overpasses will ice up first and that can happen with temps between 33 and 36 degrees. There may be some lingering showers/snow showers in the afternoon on Tuesday, but skies clear out for Wednesday with breezy conditions and cool temps in the 40s.
