Roads were wet early this morning from some light rain that fell overnight. Most of the shower activity is now occurring well south of the D.C. area however, and that pattern is expected to continue through the day. Temperatures are headed for the low 50s under cloudy and occasionally rainy skies later this afternoon. Yet another low pressure system will likely move along a stalled warm front on Monday, bringing the possibility of heavier downpours and even some thunder. Highs on both Monday and Tuesday, when the rains end, should be in the upper 50s.
Sunnier skies and high pressure will return briefly on Wednesday before a cold front and more showers usher in decidedly chillier air for the weekend. Some models even indicate a bit of snow is possible in the wake of that cold front! A few flakes would be a timely reminder that Christmas is nigh! Enjoy your Sunday.
