It's a cold and breezy penultimate day of 2012. As yesterday's storm makes its way through New England and high pressure builds into our area, a strong gradient is producing blustery winds out of the northwest. Gusts to 40 mph today will make daytime highs in the 30s feel more like the 20s. A Wind Advisory is in effectuntil 3 PM. Plenty of sunshine however and the warmth of Redskins fervor will help to mitigate the chill!
Winds will subside tonight, but the mercury will plummet into the 20s for one of the coldest nights this season. New's Year's Eve will feature some high clouds and seasonably cool temperatures in the mid 40s. A low pressure center to the south could bring some rain and perhaps a few snow showers on New Year's Day itself. Otherwise look for a mostly cloudy and cool start to the New Year with highs in the mid 40s. Bundle up and enjoy the rest of the holiday season!
