OK a quick update but our thinking about the Saturday "storm" has not changed. Yesterday's storm now just east of Boston and dumping heavy snow into Maine.
After the long dry pattern we are now sure in a more active pattern. The next storm is just beginning to form in the western plains and everything indicates that this will be a real fast mover. Here is the latest simulations of the the rain/snow line Saturday morning
That rain/snow line is still very close to Washington Saturday morning and everything points to a second storm forming off North Carolina and racing to the east so any snow will be with us for only a few hours. Still hope snow lovers but likely only 1" of wet snow in the general area. We'll keep you posted.
