Temperatures will fall to the 40s overnight as a cold front drops south of the D.C. area. This frontal system will bring a few showers Sunday and highs only in the upper 40s to lower 50s. The same front will lift northward allowing for a brief, yet substantial warm-up on Monday. Highs will approach the middle 60s to near 70 degrees. Periods of rain associated with a stronger cold front late Monday will drop temperatures back to near average readings in the 40s by Tuesday.
