As the winter storm moves away from the East Coast and high pressure builds into the area, strong winds have developed and will continue throughout the day.
The National Weather Service has placed our area under a Wind Advisory until later Thursday afternoon. With high temperatures forecast near the 40 degree mark, those winds will make it feel significantly colder. Winds will only slowly diminish Thursday night. Friday will be partly cloudy and temperatures will reach seasonal levels in the lower 40s.
On Saturday, another surge of gulf moisture may initiate another coastal storm. And while computer simulations are not in total agreement, there is a better than 50/50 chance of seeing snow in the morning mixing with, then changing to a wintry mix or plain rain during the day. Clearing, breezy and cold conditions are forecast for Sunday.
Our current extended outlook for New Years Eve calls for partly cloudy skies with highs around 40 degrees and cloudy skies for New Years Day.
