Areas of dense fog will develop overnight as temperatures fall into the 40s. A warm front will lift northward early Monday allowing southwesterly winds and a dramatic, yet brief warm-up. Highs will approach if not surpass records for the date. They currently stand as follows: Reagan National at 68°, Dulles at 71° and BWI/Marshall at 69°. All were set in 1979.
A cold front approaches late in the day allowing for showers and a few rumbles of thunder. Behind the front, temperatures will drop for Tuesday as highs will only be around 50 degrees.
