Areas south of Washington broke into a little sunshine this afternoon and allowed temperatures to climb into the upper 60s to around 70 degrees. At the same time, a large wedge of cool, damp air kept regions closer to the PA border close to the 50 degree mark. A cold front will sweep across the entire area tonight an level the playing field…temperature-wise. Scattered showers will precede and accompany the front later tonight.
As high pressure quickly builds behind the departing front, skies will clear by morning. With high pressure in control, we are forecasting a string of beautiful December weather. Skies will be partly to mostly sunn through Saturday. Highs will average around 50 degrees for the next 5 days.
