Cloudiness is increasing in advance of the next weather disturbance that will bring snow, rain and/or a wintry mix to all of our area. This is not expected to be a major storm. But in areas north and west of Washington, a couple inches of snow are possible and up to 4 inches farther north and west.
The immediate D.C. metro area could see an inch or 2 before a mix or turn over to rain. Only brief snow is expected in Southern Maryland and adjacent sections of Virginia before a mix or turnover to rain or before precipitation ends. Sunday will be partly cloudy, breezy and cold. Chilly sunshine is forecast for New Year’s Eve and flurries are possible on New Year’s Day.
