D.C. weather forecast: Partly sunny Christmas, not so nice tomorrow

Enjoy a quiet Christmas Day with few travel delays. A more potent storm system arrives tomorrow.

Partly sunny skies will brighten Christmas Day as highs approach the middle to upper 40s. Clouds will increase overnight as an area of low pressure make an approach toward the mid-Atlantic. A mix of sleet, snow and rain will fall west of D.C. tomorrow with mainly rain closer to the Chesapeake Bay. Highs will be in the middle 40s. Skies will clear Thursday with gusty winds.
