D.C. Weather Forecast: Winds pick up today; snow showers possible

The cold front pushed through the region this morning. Colder air and gusty winds will spread over the area today.

This Afternoon: Mostly Cloudy, Windy and Cold, Snow Showers Possible

Highs: Low to Mid 40s | Wind: NW 15-25+ m.p.h.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy, Windy and Cold

Lows: 20s to Low 30s | Wind: NW 20-30+ m.p.h.

Saturday: High Wind Watch

Highs: Low 40s | Wind: NW 20-30 Gusting to 50 m.p.h.

Wind Advisory through 5pm Saturday for the entire area

A strong cold front pushed through the region last night and behind it there will be plenty of wind and much cooler temperatures today and tomorrow. A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Blue Ridge and west where wind gusts could reach 50mph. East of the Blue Ridge, gusts could get up to 40 mph this afternoon and evening. Skies will have a few sunny breaks this morning but should be mostly cloudy this afternoon. A few snow showers will be possible later today and high temperatures will only reach the mid 40s.

Tonight will be partly cloudy, windy and cold with lows in the 20s to low 30s. Saturday will be very windy across the entire region with wind gusts to 50 mph possible. Temperatures will be in the lower 40s under partly sunny skies. The winds will finally diminish Sunday and temperatures will moderate a bit into the upper 70s.
