After a misty start, steadier rain moves into the metro later this afternoon.

This Afternoon: Cloudy with Rain

Highs: Low to Mid 40s | Precipitation: 70%

Tonight: Clouds with Rain

Lows: Mid-upper 30s | Rain: 70%

Wednesday: Morning Rain, then Mostly Cloudy

Highs: Mid 40s | Wind: W 4-8

After picking up between a quarter of an inch to a half of an inch of rain overnight, much of the wet weather has stayed south of the metro area this morning.  Here's a gloomy look at our roof cam at WJLA in Rosslyn.

Rosslyn, VA

Good napping weather!  As we head through the afternoon, another wave of rain will move into the area and will stick around through most of the night.  We should pick up another 1/2" -3/4".  The front that passed through yesterday has stalled to the south and energy will travel along that front to trigger more rain on and off through Wednesday morning.  We should finally dry out Wednesday afternoon, but I think the clouds will persist.  If we are lucky, a peek of sunshine is possible tomorrow afternoon. Best chances west.  Thursday will feature a mix of sun and clouds, but by Friday, things definitely look brighter.
