D.C. weather forecast: light wintry mix possible
Tuesday: Mostly Cloudy, 30% Chance Sprinkle or Light Mix South of D.C.
Highs: 40°-46° | Wind: W 5-10 mph
Tonight: Lingering Clouds
Lows: 24°-29° | Wind: N 5-10 mph
Wednesday: Sunny & Cold
Highs: Mid 30s | Wind: N 5-10
A weak cold front has dropped into the D.C. area from the north while some energy is skirting to our south. These features have already caused a few sprinkles in Southern Maryland and possibly a few more later today south of the D.C. metro area. A few snowflakes may mix with the light sprinkles, but this is a moisture starved system with very limited potential, so I have no concerns regarding travel. I'm just expecting clouds around the beltway.
The cold air will remain in place the rest of the week with the coldest day being Wednesday as highs only reach into the middle 30s despite vast sunshine. Temperatures should trend upwards again but not until Sunday and next week.
