D.C. Weather Forecast: Sunshine, but a chilly afternoon
This Afternoon: Mostly Sunny and Cool
Highs: Upper 30s to Lower 40s | Wind: NW 5-10

Highs: Upper 30s | Wind: W 5
We started the day cloudy, and there was even a bit of a wintry mix over Southern Maryland, but all of it was very short lived. Skies have been slowly clearing all morning, and abundant sunshine can be expected this afternoon as high pressure moves in from the west. The weather pattern this week is rather quiet. A split jetstream is keeping the really cold air up to the north. Check out how much colder it is in the Great Lakes, Ohio Valley and Northeast!
- 10:30a.m. Temperatures on January 2nd
The temp in Pittsburgh, PA is 17 degrees colder than here at 10:30 a.m. We are chilly, but will see temps only slightly below average today and tomorrow. The average high in D.C. today is 43 degrees. Thursday will be the coldest day of the bunch with highs in the upper 30s. But, we will gradually see a warming trend by the weekend and early next week.
