A beautiful sunny Valentine's Day and another day with temperatures a bit above average. The recent rain (and snow melt) has created some runoff of sediment into the Potomac and Bay which is visible from space.
The big story for this coming weekend will be some very cold Canadian air sweeping in Friday night and Saturday morning. At the same time another small storm will form along the cold front and bring us another rain to snow event. Right now the likely timing (60% probability) is for rain spreading in Friday evening and then (as with other small storms) changing to snow early Saturday morning before ending. Some areas around D.C. are likely again to see a coating or 1" of snow or more.. Not a big snow but Saturday morning something for snow lovers to enjoy and with very cold air over us into Sunday, any snow will stick around for more than a few hours.
