High pressure is building overhead Wednesday and has cleared out the skies all but north of D.C.
The progression should continue throughout the day with partly cloudy to mostly sunny conditions during the afternoon. Despite a northerly wind, the sunshine will help us warm up today into the middle 40s.
The average high for Feb. 6 is 45 degrees. Wednesday should be the epitome of "normal" with a high right around that. By Thursday, the high pressure system will start slipping to our east, so the day starts with sunshine, but the clouds will return for the afternoon.
This is in advance of two storms that are expected to phase together and redevelop off the coast, possibly bringing us an interesting forecast for Friday. Right now, we think a wintry mix will start on Thursday night/Friday morning with a change to rain.
