Today and Friday will be mild, but another round of light snow will affect the region Friday night prior to a much colder weekend.

This Afternoon: Mostly Sunny, Mild

Highs: Around 50 | Wind: S 5 m.p.h.

Tonight: Mostly Clear and Chilly

Lows: 31-38 | Wind: SW 5 m.p.h.

Friday: Partly Sunny to Mostly Cloudy

Highs: Low 50s | Wind: W 5-10 m.p.h.

Sunny skies and mild temperatures will be the story today with temperatures around 50 degrees. Tonight, skies will remain mostly clear and temperatures will be chilly in the 30s. Friday will continue to be mild, with high temperatures in the low 50s under partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies.

Clouds will thicken Friday afternoon as an area of low pressure moves into the region. This will bring a chance of some rain by late Friday evening (6-7pm) which will have the chance to change over to some light snow Friday night at this time we think after 8pm. Light snow accumulations will be possible mainly on side streets and grassy surfaces with such warm road temperatures from earlier in the day.

Much colder air will filter into the area Saturday with highs in the upper 30s and Sunday looks even colder with highs in the mid 30s. Gusty winds will also be possible each day and a few snow flurries or snow showers appear possible Sunday. We will continue to keep you updated on tomorrow evening's system tonight on ABC 7 News at 5pm, 6pm and 11pm and around the clock on WTOP Radio 103.5FM.
