All the ingredients continue to gather that will produce a monster storm(90% confidence) for the New England and parts of the Northeast. Look at the weather warnings now out.
There is enough cold air to the west of Washington that some light freezing rain may fall later tonight as the storm moves to the Carolina coast. That is the reason for the winter weather advisory for the early morning hours. For most of the metro area, temperatures above freezing and just some light rain or showers for the morning commute. The rain is getting closer.
As the storm rapidly grows much stronger to our north, cold north winds come in by Friday afternoon and we could see some snow flurries or snow showers and enough to a dusting to 1" of snow N & W of D.C. by Friday evening. Only a tiny amount compared to the 20-30" that may fall around the Boston area snow lovers.
