D.C. Weather Forecast: Cold, moderate to heavy rain continues

A Flood Watch and Winter Weather Advisory remain through the evening.

Highs: 40s | Wind: E 10-15 m.p.h.

Tonight: Rain Ends, Mild

Lows: 44-53 | Wind: SW 5-10 m.p.h.

Wednesday: Partly Sunny, Breezy and Mild, PM Shower

Highs: Mid to Upper 50s | Wind: WSW 10-15+ m.p.h.

A Flood Watch remains in effect from 3pm through this evening for the majority of the D.C. Metro area. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 6pm along and west of the Shenandoah Valley south and west of D.C.

Rain will continue to be moderate to heavy at times through the afternoon and evening. Latest radar trends show the heaviest rainfall possible for Southern Maryland and the Eastern Shore, though isolated pockets of heavy rain will be possible closer to the Metro. Temperatures in the 30s will eventually reach the 40s this evening. Tonight, rain will come to an end and milder temperatures will filter into the area. Temperatures will warm into the 50s by tomorrow morning.

Wednesday will be partly sunny, breezy and mild with highs in the mid to upper 50s. There is a chance for a few sprinkles or light showers but they will be isolated. Thursday will be breezy and mild with highs near 50 degrees. There's a chance for a few evening sprinkles or flurries Thursday. Cooler temperatures in the 40s are expected Friday and Saturday.
