D.C. Weather Forecast: Drying out for the evening commute

Winds will be a bit gusty at times but rain will exit the region by the evening rush hour.

This Evening: Partial Clearing, Breezy

Temperatures: 40s | Wind: W 10-15 m.p.h.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy and Chilly

Lows: Upper 20s to Low 30s | Wind: W 6-12 m.p.h.

Wednesday: Partly Sunny, Blustery

Highs: Near 40 | Wind: WNW 10-20 m.p.h.

A few breaks in the overcast have been noted west of the Blue Ridge and showers will continue to exit the region to the east through the afternoon. This evening, expect breezy winds and some partial clearing as the cold front approaches from the west.

Visible Satellite early this afternoon

This frontal boundary will pass through the region tonight, with chilly temperatures by morning in the 20s in the suburbs to low 30s in town.

Wednesday will be partly sunny and blustery with highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s and gusty winds out of the west-northwest around 10 to 20 mph. Thursday will see more sunshine, but continued chilly temperatures in the lower 40s. The next chance for precipitation will be on Friday. This may actually be some sleet or freezing rain with high temperatures on Friday near the 40 degree mark. Timing brings the precipitation into the area by Friday afternoon. We will continue to update this forecast through the week.
