What a beautiful day! Plenty of sunshine is back after a gloomy Monday. Temperatures will warm into the low to mid 50s this afternoon. Tomorrow is a different story. An area of low pressure will be tracking towards us from the south and bring cloudy skies. By afternoon we will start to see some light rain enter the area. During the evening hours, the rain will mix with and change over to snowfall. We expect the temperatures to remain above freezing and accumulations in D.C. should be minimal and stay mainly on the grass and car tops. As for snowfall totals, here is the probability map for snow accumulations of more than an inch.
- Probability of 1" of snow or more
I think we will stay under that for The District. Just Northwest of here, snow totals will range closer to 1-2" including northern Loudon and northern Montgomery counties. The higher elevations to the West will see even higher numbers up to 6". There is still some uncertainty on precipitation type, so stay tuned for any changes. The rain and snow will be over with by Midnight Wednesday night/Thursday Morning.
