A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for the Tidal Potomac and Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. This has nothing with rainfall and only due to sustained southeasterly winds increasing high tide potential from 1 to 2 feet.
The Flood Watch turned out to be unnecessary as heavier elements of rain associated with the latest storm system never developed. Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect in the Shenandoah Valley but the only ice reported is in the mountains of Garrett County Maryland…certainly not in valley locations. The rain will end late tonight. There could be a few pockets of fog as milder air will overspread the region during the overnight.
Tomorrow will be partly cloudy, breezy and quite mild with temperatures climbing well through the 50s. On Thursday, the weather will start to take on the feel of late winter once again. Falling temperatures are expected during the day with a chance of a few showers and maybe a few flurries later in the day. Noticeably colder weather will arrive on Friday and last through the weekend.
