D.C. weather forecast: Light snow and flurries, more on the way

A series of fast moving clipper systems is bringing flurries and light snow to the mid-Atlantic until Tuesday. Highs Sunday will be in the middle to upper 30s with a chance for light snow, mainly during the afternoon hours.

Overnight: Flurries, Cold

Lows: 24°-30° | Wind: Southwest 3-8 mph

Sunday: Snow Showers Likely

Highs: 35°-40° | Wind: West 10-15 mph

Monday: Late PM Snow Showers

Highs: 32°-37° | Wind: Northwest 15-25 mph

Expect a few flurries overnight as temperatures settle into the 20s to near 30 degrees. Highs Sunday will be in the middle to upper 30s with a chance for light snow, mainly during the afternoon hours. Accumulations for the weekend are expected to be minimal, between a dusting to one-inch. Skies clear Sunday night as the wind increases. Gusts may exceed 30 miles per hour. Another series of fast moving clippers will arrive late Monday and into Tuesday with a chance for light snow. Milder air is expected by the end of the week.
