Winds return along with some more winter weather!

This Afternoon: Sunshine

Temperatures: Upper 30s | Wind: SW 5 - 10 mph

Overnight: Increasing clouds

Lows: Lower 30s/Upper 20s | Wind: S 5-10 mph

Tuesday: Rain showers

Highs: Nearing 50 | Wind: S 10-20 mph, gusts up to 30 mph

High pressure in charge for today, therefore say goodbye to the breezy conditions of the weekend and hello to the sunshine! This will be short-lived though as a cold front moves through the area tomorrow. Temperatures drop to right around the freezing mark tonight which could make for some interesting conditions tomorrow morning. Precip tomorrow morning will start off as a wintry mix (mainly west/northwest of the metro area). By the time the precip moves from west to east and into the DC area by mid-morning/early afternoon, looks like we will be warm enough to see all rain around the district and at that point, all locations will have made the switch to just plain rain. Rain totals will be on the light side, less than 0.25”. The rain will move off the coast and clear the region by 8PM.

Temperatures tomorrow will manage to make it into the upper 40s/lower 50s spots. Another point for tomorrow, winds will kick back up and stay breezy though Wednesday. Sunshine returns for Wednesday and Thursday but temperatures remain around 40 degrees (and it will feel much cooler with the winds). Clouds move back in on Friday and Saturday and some rain showers on tap for those two days before sunshine conditions resumes on Sunday.
