This last day of Standard Time is a pleasant reminder that spring is close enough to touch! After winds gusting to 40 mph yesterday made the 52 degree high feel much cooler, today is considerably calmer, sunnier, and more comfortable. The temperatures today should rise to the mid 50s and then to near 60 on Sunday. Lighter winds from the north at 5 to 10 mph today will gradually shift to the southeast on Sunday. Other than some late day cloudiness tomorrow, the weekend will be a welcome antidote to the cold and blustery days of late.
Remember to turn your clocks AHEAD one hour tonight as Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 AM on Sunday. The sunrise tomorrow will be at 7:27 AM and sunset at 7:10 PM.
After yet another mild, but cloudy day on Monday, some showers are likely on Tuesday. Thereafter, sunshine returns but daytime highs through Friday will be a bit lower than the seasonal norm of 53.
NOTE: The local metro area may have escaped the heavy snow on Wednesday, but the 1.03 inches of rain that fell at Reagan National made for the wettest day this calendar year. We have to go back to December 26th when the rainfall tally was 1.42 inches for a rainier day. Enjoy your weekend!
