Get out and enjoy the afternoon if you can. It will be the last time we top 50s in a while.  Winds sloping down the Appalachians will heat our air today, help clear our skies out, and  bring near average temperatures. Here is a glimpse of the sun, in case you need it for later in the week! 

Sunshine Breaking Through the Clouds

 
Our average high in D.C. today is 57 degrees.  We will get close to that.  But the dominating weather pattern that has kept us cool and unsettled kicks back in tomorrow and lasts well into next week.  Expect quite a bit of sunshine this afternoon, but Wednesday will feature a mix of sun and clouds.  There is a chance of a brief afternoon shower, but the majority of the day will be dry.
