Here we are starting Meteorological Spring and it feels a bit more like February. The jet stream is dipping to our south allowing cooler Canadian air to usher into the area and stay there through mid next week. So, expect highs to remain in the 40s. In addition to the coolish weather, the upper air pattern keeps us with a fair amount of cloudiness. Today will be a lot like yesterday, with more clouds than anything else, but a few breaks at times with sunshine and even a few cloudy periods that could squeeze out a sprinkle or flurry. The end of the weekend should bring a bit more sunshine, but Sunday and Monday will be the coldest of the bunch with highs in the low 40s. Upper 30s will be likely North and West of the metro. If you're looking for a warm up, NOAA is predicting our area will see above average temperatures for March, April and May.
We have equal chances of having above or below average precipitation.
Snow lovers, there may be some hope for you yet. An area of low pressure will develop in the Southeast next week. But, it's still uncertain what kind of impact it will have on us. At this time, there are equal chances of some snow, rain, or a miss altogether. Stay tuned to ABC7 and the Stormwatch Team for updates as the storm gets closer.
