Yesterday was brisk, with temperatures only making it to 37º at Dulles, 40º at BWI and a paltry 42º downtown. But that was only half of the story as gusty winds made for wind chills in the 20s. Today I’ll describe as more chilly than cold despite the mercury pushing into the mid to upper 40s. It will feel like the 30s at times through the day. All this cold weather makes it hard to believe the NOAA spring outlook that was released yesterday and called for a warmer than normal spring for the East!
Saturday looks to be the nicest day of the next 7 - so plan to get out and enjoy it as best you can! A storm system heading east will increase clouds Sunday and could overspread the region with a mix of rain and snow into Monday. Snow accumulation is possible, especially in higher elevations, but in the coming days will get better clarifications with model updates. Bundle up and have a great day!
