One year ago today the cherry blossoms were in peak bloom, and the high temperature at DCA was 78 degrees. Well, today will be about 30 degrees cooler than that and peak bloom is expected in early April (3-6). Highs today should make it into the mid 40s, but it'll feel like the 30s when you factor in the gusty wind. Saturday is looking sunny and warmer, but still below average as highs creep into the mid 50s. The prospect of snow still exists for late Sunday into Monday, but it's too early to pin down totals (if any at all). Such a warm and sunny Saturday and the high sun angle this time of year will make it tough for those first flakes to stick on Sunday. However, some accumulation is possible especially in the higher terrain and some spots west of D.C. by Monday morning. We will have constant updates here on www.wjla.com/weather
- Morning lows were more indicative of late January than late March
