It will be a beautiful start to the weekend with mostly sunny skies and highs around 70.  Look for increasing amounts of cloudiness on Sunday, but temperatures will stay mild.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy, Mild

Lows: 44-51 | Wind: S 5-10 mph

Sunday: AM Sun, Then PM Clouds, Still Mild

Highs: 66-71 | Wind: S 10-15 mph

We couldn't ask for a better start to the weekend!  With lots of sunshine, blue skies, and highs around 70, it is a delightful day to be outside and to revel  in the comfortable conditions. But our benefactor, the high pressure system overhead, will be moving to the east tomorrow.  Thereafter our sunshine if not our mild temperatures, will begin to fade.  While Sunday should start out with partly sunny skies, afternoon clouds and a slight threat of showers late in the day will make for a less than perfect finish to the weekend.

With a pair of low pressure centers to our west and an onshore flow of moist maritime air expected through much of next week, it is all the more reason to enjoy the sunshine today.  The unsettled weather pattern will give us a series of mostly cloudy days with showers possible right through to next weekend.  Temperatures will be slightly below normal.

NOTE: Although this month continues to be warmer than normal, six of the past seven days were well below the seasonal average.  While mostly sunny, the week brought out winter coats as low temperatures flirted with the freezing point.  Still, the week was a break from Washington's trademark humidity, even if we had to flip the air conditioner for the furnace!  Enjoy your weekend.
