High pressure off the Carolina Coast is responsible for the summer-like weather conditions across the area. Temperatures hit 80 degrees yesterday, have climbed into the middle 80s today and will reach the upper 80s tomorrow. Skies will be sunny again tomorrow. And now it appears Thursday will be very warm with partly to mostly sunny skies. A cold front will bring rain to many parts of the area early Friday. Highs on Friday will cool to the lower 70s. Computer model simulations show clearing skies Friday afternoon. As the next area of high pressure moves in over the weekend, we are forecasting mostly sunny skies with highs in the middle 60s on both Saturday and Sunday. Much warmer air will return next week.
