A taste of summer today with a high of 86°.  Not far from the record 90° and the average high for June 22.  Some wild weather around the country with snows from Denver (14° at midday) to risk of severe weather in the south.

The strong cold front will move across the country the next few days and weaken, but by late Thursday, also bring an end to our touch of summer.  The record tomorrow is 89° in D.C. but only 78° at Dulles so that will fall. No sign of severe weather here and some "seasonable" air in over us for the weekend.  Can you see any cherry blossoms from 400 miles up in this great afternoon view from the NASA AQUA satellite?
