Clouds have finally dispersed but temperatures are still running around 10 degrees below normal. Expect conditions to be much warmer Wednesday.

Tonight: Partly to Mostly Cloudy, Cool

Lows: 42-50 | Wind: S 3-5 m.p.h.

Wednesday: Partly Cloudy, Breezy and Warmer, PM T-Storms

Highs: Upper 70s | Precipitation: 50%

Thursday: Partly Cloudy and Cooler

Highs: Mid 60s | Wind: N 4-8 m.p.h.

The cloud cover, associated with an area of low pressure off shore of the U.S. East Coast, has been slowly but steadily moving from west to east during the day. Skies will become clear to partly cloudy around the area tonight. A big warm-up is on the way for Wednesday as we get a nice push of warm air ahead of the next cold front heading this way. It will be partly cloudy tomorrow with highs in the middle to upper 70s. By late tomorrow afternoon and evening, scattered showers and thunderstorms will affect the area as the cold front gets closer. There could a few, isolated heavy thunderstorms and an isolated severe thunderstorm is not out of the realm of possibility.

Somewhat cooler air will follow the front for Thursday. It will be partly cloudy with highs back into the middle 60s. Sunshine will prevail on Friday with highs reaching the upper 60s. The weekend outlook is still in question…at least in my mind. Right now I think the best forecast is for partly to mostly cloudy skies on Saturday and Sunday with a chance of pockets of light rain or drizzle on Sunday. Highs will be a bit below average as winds are expected to be easterly. At this time of year, easterly winds do not supply sunny and warm weather.
