So at the least the weekend was nice. After a decidedly beautiful weekend, the region woke up to cloudy skies and showers Monday.
TODAY: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers
Wind: SE 8-12 mph
OVERNIGHT: Remaining mostly cloudy
Wind: SE 4-8 mph
TOMORROW: AM drizzle. Becoming partly cloudy, warmer
Wind: S 10-15+ mph
It is not the most pleasant morning, weather-wise. But at least we enjoyed a beautiful weekend and today's rain is washing the pollen out of the air. Temperatures are comfortable. In fact, even with more clouds than sunshine this week, high temperatures will be well above average.
A weather disturbance southwest of Washington has drawn in quite a bit of Atlantic moisture the morning. More areas of light rain are likely during the day. During the next few days, our area will be affected by a couple frontal systems that will keep conditions unsettled, at best. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible on Wednesday and Thursday but become likely on Friday as a potent cold front is expected to sweep across the area.
Clearing and much cooler weather is in our forecast for next weekend.
