Wow.  The Heat is ON!  We switched from winter to summer on a dime and today will be the peak of our heat wave.  Temperatures will remain mild all week, but this will be the hottest of the bunch.  This is NOT normal.  In fact, records are in jeopardy.  Here's a look at records highs for April 10th.

Record High Temperatures for April 10th

I think we will likely match the high at Reagan National and we should shatter the record at Dulles.  Though I admit that is a pretty low record temperature for April.  We are definitely in the group of "haves" when it comes to heat. Look at the temperature spread across the eastern half of the country.

Forecast Highs Today

Hard to believe that Minneapolis has seen a few inches of snow from last night and should pick up another 6-12" late today through tomorrow.  That same storm system is heading our way, but won't have near the punch when it arrives.  Some showers and gusty winds can be expected overnight Thursday and into Friday.  It will be the end of our heatwave, but we really could use the rain.  It will clean out our air a bit and bring pollen levels down a bit.  The tree pollen count will be off the charts today as well.
