Washington D.C. forecast: Warm today, wind chills in the 20s overnight

Enjoy the warmth today, a cold front will drop wind chills into the 20s overnight.

This Afternoon: Turning Partly Sunny, Isolated Showers

Highs: 62°-70° | Wind: West 15-20 mph

Overnight: Mainly Clear, Breezy and Cold

Lows: 30s | Wind: Northwest 10-20 mph

Tuesday: Mostly Sunny and Cool

Highs: 50°-55° | Wind: Northwest 10-15 mph


Clouds will increase this afternoon as highs reach the upper 50s to lower 60s. A cold front is poised to move across the mid-Atlantic later in the day and could trigger a few showers, but only limited to about a 20-percent chance. Skies clear overnight, winds increase and temperatures plummet. Lows will be in the 30s with wind chills making it feel like the 20s.

High pressure builds overhead Tuesday and Wednesday with daytime highs about ten degrees below average for this time of year. At least the sunshine will make lower 50s feel a little better.  An area of low pressure will bring clouds and unsettled weather late Thursday and Friday.
