Washington D.C. forecast: Warmer today; Storms possible late

Temperatures will finally be above normal again today ahead of a cold front that will bring the chance for storms this afternoon and evening.

This Afternoon: Partly Cloudy, Storms Late

Highs: Upper 70s | Wind: S 10-20 m.p.h.

Overnight: Becoming Partly Cloudy

Lows: 42-48 | Wind: NW 10-15 m.p.h.

Thursday: Partly Cloudy, Cooler

Highs: Mid 60s | Wind: NW 5-10 m.p.h.

Much warmer temperatures are expected today ahead of a cold front with highs in the upper 70s. Showers and storms will be possible along the front late this afternoon and evening with the most likely timing between 6pm and 10pm. Overnight, skies will become partly cloudy and cooler temperatures will filter into the area with lows in the 40s.

CICADAS ARE COMING BACK?

Thursday and Friday will feature cooler temperatures in the mid 60s under partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. The weekend looks nice with highs in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees each day. Partly cloudy skies are expected Saturday but more clouds than sun are anticipated for Sunday.
