D.C. weather forecast: Bright and breezy Mother's Day

A cold front will push off the coast overnight allowing for clearing skies and a stretch of cool days.

Overnight: Lingering Showers, Some Clearing

Lows: 50s | Wind: Northwest 10-15 mph

Sunday: Mostly Sunny and Breezy

Highs: 65°-70° | Wind: Northwest 15-25 mph

Monday: Sunny and Breezy

Highs: 58°-63° | Wind: Northwest 15-20 mph

Skies will slowly clear overnight as windsgradually increase during the early morning hours. Lows will tumble into the 50s.

Mother's Day will be brighter with highs in the 60s, although gusty winds will make it feel a bit cooler. With an area of high pressure overhead,  Monday will be one of the coolest days this month as highs struggle to reach the upper 50s to lower 60s. Patchy frost will be likely form in the mountains early Tuesday morning.
