Comfortable temperatures and plenty of sunshine this first day of May.

Tonight: Clear and chilly, low clouds possible south and east.

Lows: Lower 40s in the suburbs to around 50 degrees downtown | Wind: E 5 mph

Thursday: Low clouds possible south and east, then becoming sunny and pleasant.

Highs: Around 70 degrees | Wind: ESE 5-10 mph

Friday: Mostly sunny and mild.

Highs: Lower 70s | Wind: ESE 5-15 mph

High pressure is centered over the Atlantic Ocean just east of Cape Cod. This fair weather system will expand and strengthen to the southwest for the next few days.

We expect lots of sunshine during the day with temperatures near normal. As long as the winds keep an easterly component, there will be the chance for some areas of low cloudiness during the overnight and early morning hours. In the bigger picture though, the weather looks great heading into and through this upcoming weekend. By Late Monday or Tuesday, clouds and showers could return to our area as an area of low pressure may approach from the south.
