The rainy, unsettled weather pattern continues, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Tonight: Showers and isolated thunderstorms. Heavy downpours possible.

Lows: 50s and 60s | Wind: E 5-15 mph

Wednesday: Partly sunny with a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Highs: Upper 60s | Wind: SE 5-10 mph

Thursday: Partly sunny and warmer with a 30% chance

Highs: Middle 70s | Wind: SW 5-10 mph

Low pressure centered over western NC will slowly and I mean slowly, drift towards and then through our area. This will keep skies mostly cloudy a while longer with occasional showers and thunderstorms. There is a chance we will see a little sunshine in spots tomorrow and Thursday, but showers and thunderstorms will still be possible.  Here's a simulation of the temperatures and storms tomorrow afternoon.

Temperatures will warm through the 70s and reach near 80 degrees on Friday. Skies will be partly cloudy on Friday but scattered thunderstorms will still be possible. Looking ahead to Saturday, as a cold front approaches the region, we think it will be partly to mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms becoming likely. If there is any good weather news in this forecast, it will be on Sunday, Mother’s Day. Right now it looks like it will be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.
